Why is the water so much higher today?
Answer
Because the municipalité de Lac-Simon has increased the height of the dam at the Riviere de la Petite Nation, of course. More water has helped to fight water pollution. More water means diluted concentrations of e-coli & blue-green algae. Negative side effects include: a decrease in the natural habitat for many flora & fauna and increased shoreline erosion. Unfortunately, increased development will negate this greater water advantage.

Ceci est prèsque preuve que les deux lacs ont été déjà ensemble avant la construction des ponts et barrages sur lac Simon et sur "lac Barrière".
