A postcard of Lac Simon a long time ago. The water is quite low. This is a view of the bridge from Baie Gamache/Pavillion du Camping in lac Barrierre.

Why is the water so much higher today?
Answer
Because the municipalité de Lac-Simon has increased the height of the dam at the Riviere de la Petite Nation, of course.

Now we know why Ile Canard Blanc is saturated with water.
A greener vision repeated: Based on the current higher water level that has saturated the island, should not the interior of the island/center of the development be converted (sold) to the government as crown land and attached to the northern 2/3 of the island that already is crown land (ministère des Ressources naturelles et de la Faune).
